Sinopec to Shift Beihai Refinery to Tieshan Port, to Add Polypropylene Plant

Shrouded by tighter environmental regulations, Sinopec is shifting its 12,000 bpd Beihai refinery from the Guangxi province near Vietnam, to Tieshan Port. Tieshan Port is about 40 kms from Beihai. At the new site, Sinopec has plans to build a major refinery of 200,000 bpd, a 200,000 tpa polypropylene plant by 2011, along with a 20 mln barrel commercial crude oil storage base.
