China Announced Final Anti-dumping Determination For 1,4-Butanediol (BDO)

PUdaily, Shanghai-The Ministry of Commerce of P.R.C. announced yesterday that imported 1,4-Butanediol (BDO) from Saudi Arabia and Taiwan will be imposed anti-dumping duty, effective from December 25, 2009 as such imported products exist dumping to China mainland and has sufficient evidence of dumping, injury and causality between the two.

According to the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Anti-dumping, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) officially initiated an investigation for imports from Saudi Arabia and Taiwan on September 25, 2008.

On May 5, 2009, the MOC issued the preliminary determination; on September 24, 2009, MOC decided to prolong the investigation to December 25, 2009.

Effective from December 25, 2009, China importers who purchase BDO materials from Saudi Arabia and Taiwan should be levied anti-dumping rates at the range of 4.5%-13.6%. Details as follows:

Saudi Arabia Company:

     1. International Diol Company   4.5%

     2. All Others      13.6%
 

Taiwan Company:

      1.  DAIREN CHEMICAL CORPORATION     4.6%

      2. TCC CHEMICAL CORPORATION             9.1%

      3. NAN YA PLASTICS CORPORATION        4.8%

      4.  All Others       13.6%
