Singapore – Lubrizol has opened another innovation centre, this time for the south-east Asian market. The centre in Jurong, Singapore is designed to deepen the company’s collaborations with customers, and help them advance innovations. The centre was supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board.
The multi-floor 15,000m2 centre includes advanced laboratories, immersive experience zones, and dedicated spaces for technical training and knowledge exchange. Its scientists and product developers will, the company said, use local R&D and testing capabilities to help customers in multiple sectors with product development.
“This new innovation centre represents a significant commitment to our innovation locally,” said Henry Liu, VP at Lubrizol Asia Pacific. “By bringing together expertise across Lubrizol and our partners, this collaborative facility will enable acceleration of technologies that meet the region’s evolving needs, turning shared innovation into breakthrough solutions that solve real-world challenges.”
The company has also signed memorandums of understanding with the Singapore Economic Development Board and United Oil, a JV with oil company Repsol. The latter is designed to explore joint innovation opportunities and expand market reach through collaborative product development, while the former outlines a shared commitment to innovation and exploring additional investment opportunities over the coming five years.
“Lubrizol’s new innovation centre is a strong endorsement of Singapore’s position as a launchpad for innovation, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing,” said Lim Wey-Len, EVP at the Economic Development Board. “As a leading player in specialty chemicals, Lubrizol’s decision to anchor R&D activities here also reinforces Singapore’s role as a trusted partner for companies in the energy and chemicals sector seeking to develop next-generation, sustainable solutions.”
Meanwhile, Lubrizol has also opened a new office in Indonesia. It is located in the Talavera Office Park in South Jakarta, and will serve as a hub for customer and industry engagement and technical service. A further memorandum has been signed locally, with PT Pertamina Lubricants, a subsidiary of the country’s state-owned energy company.
“Indonesia reflects diversity, resilience, and potential,” Liu said. “With this office, we are reinforcing our intent to deliver tailored, science-based solutions that empower industries and improve lives. We invite local partners, industry leaders, and innovators to connect and explore collaborative opportunities that drive Indonesia’s industrial future.”
