Southeast Asia (hereinafter referred to as SE Asia) polyols market is reported being stable-to-firm in the first half of June in line with rising crude oil price with slab polyols prices picking up for USD 50/ton compared with last month. Market price of polyols is assessed at USD 1,380-1,450/ton CIF SE Asia with lower end for bulk and higher end for drum, and polymer polyols at USD 1,750-1,800/ton CIF SE Asia in drum. It is reported from market mavens that some suppliers are warming up the market in preparation for the following price hike of about USD 50/ton while some end users doubting its feasibility when market is so slow.



In India, the polyols market is still steady but struggling in the prolonged supply glut as well, in which it is said that half-capacity of suppliers can meet the market demand. Slab polyols at INR 102-103/kg (about USD 1,400-1,450/ton CFR India) in bulk is reported from the Singapore producer by local contacts, and polymer polyols at USD 1,740-1,780/ton CIF India when the Thailand supplier...



China domestic polyols market has been stable in the first two weeks of June and followed by gentle price hike on account of rising propylene oxide prices as market players take optimistic attitude with the upcoming industry conference in China. Nevertheless, even the increasing cost cannot sustain this uptrend in this lackluster season when business of suppliers is generally reported not good, propelling them to lower down prices without other choices. On June 17 the concluded price of slab polyols is closing to 8,600-8,800/ton DEL in bulk, the same level as that on May 27.
