Southeast Asia

Southeast Asia (hereinafter referred to as SE Asia) polyols market keeps stable-to-soft with slight downward trend in the first half of July, specifically for countries including Malaysia and Thailand. Mainstream prices are assessed between 1,300-1,450/ton CIF SE Asia for slab polyols, with lower end price for bulk and higher end for drum, while polymer polyols (hereinafter referred to as POP) are heard between USD 1,670-1,750/ton CIF in drum...

In Indonesia, the polyols market is reported slow and mute just after the Eid al Fitr festival, and many market players are still out of market, so business activities are reported 50% down compared with last month at present. Major Singapore and Thailand suppliers are heard offering slab polyols at USD 1,250-1,300/ton CIF in bulk, and 1,300-1,350/ton CIF in drum, as per one local trader. Indonesia, the second largest auto producers, has seen the auto output and sales volume down by 15% and 16% in 2015 when the government cancels the gasoline subsidy, and people are reluctant to purchase considering higher gasoline cost; from Jan. to May in 2016, its auto output post a small increase of 1.3% year on year, while the sales volume is trending down for 0.6% year on year.

In Malaysia, the polyols market trends down slightly in the first half of July, with offers from Singapore lost by MYR 0.1/kg to MYR 5.80/kg (about USD 1,390/ton CIF) from MYR5.90/kg (about USD 1,415/ton CIF) due to appreciation of local currency, as per local distributors...

In India, the market is reported to have gone down a little because of declining PO price in the monsoon season. The market price settles at around USD 1,330-1,375/ton CIF in bulk, and USD 1,380-1,450/ton CIF in drum. The Singapore supplier is said quoting at around USD 1,350-1,375/ton CIF in bulk...
